Configuration of Webcam Simulator
in Instant Messengers :
Yahoo messenger and MSN messenger picks 'Webcam Simulator' as your
default webcam. However, if you already have a camera or similar device
installed you need to explicitly select Webcam Simulator.

Missing Windows Media Player Codecs.
If you play a movie in Webcam Simulator and you don't see it in
your Yahoo/MSN webcam windows then your machine might be missing
windows media player codec. Either:
- Open that movie in Windows Media Player and WMP will automatically
download required codecs for you.
- Download and install Windows
Media Player Codecs from Micorsoft.com.

Different free Codecs are available for different file formats :
Codec is short
for Compressor-decompressor. Codecs are needed for
encoding and decoding (playing) audio and video. You can try the
following codecs:
- XP Codec Pack:
One of the most completed codec packs which helps you to play all major audio and video formats.
Some formats are AC3 / DTS / MPEG Audio, VCD/SVCD/XCD, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-1/2 Layer III / MP3, MPEG-4,AVI subtitles, QuickTime and RealVideo support etc
- DivX:
An advanced digital
media format. DivX lets you play, create and share
digital video by turning bulky videos into lean,
mean DivX files.
- FFDSHOW:
A DirectShow decoding filter
for decompressing DivX, XviD, WMV, MPEG-1 and MPEG-2
movies. It uses libavcodec from ffmpeg project for
video decompression, postprocessing code from
mplayer to enhance visual quality of low bitrate
movies, and is based on original DirectShow filter
from XviD, which is GPL'ed educational
implementation of MPEG4 encoder.
- PlayFLV:
An installation package that enables Webcam Simulator to play FLV (Flash Video) files.This program installs and registers FLVSplitter by Gabest. It binds FLV files to Windows Media Player, enabling playback of FLV files by double-clicking them. The installer prompts to download and install ffdshow, required for movies in Flash 7 file format.

Switching between physical webcam and Webcam Simulator :
You can switch between your physical webcam installed and Webcam
simulator. Like in Yahoo, webcam menu, click File->Preference->Web
Cam->Camera Source, select between your physical cam and Webcam
Simulator.

When you play a movie file using Webcam Simulator its available
to all messengers you are running including Yahoo, MSN and AOL messengers.

Installation on more then one machine :
You can install Webcam Simulator on as many machines as you want
under your personal use. Everytime you install it on a new machine,
it generate a new registration code. Please send us your new registration
code along with the payment receipt number to obtain a new license
key.

Registration and Payment Emails:
When application such as webcam simulator is launched, it
checks and installs license key from our server using your
registration email address. If your registration email address is
different from payment email address, the application wont be able to find your license key on
server. For that reason, its important to have same email
address for product registration as well as payment. You can
always change your product registration email in application with Registration Email Editor utility.
